Via Ferrata’s detailed description
The Cala del Molí via ferrata is located in Sant Feliu de Guíxols (Alt Empordà, Girona). It is the only via ferrata in the country situated by the sea. In fact, this via ferrata allows us to traverse the cliffs of the Costa Brava, where the waves break at our feet. Undoubtedly, it is one of the best ferratas in Catalonia, as it offers an incredibly equipped route. The staples, bridges, and seagulls will be the highlights of this adventure. Whether you want to start in the world of via ferratas or prefer to spend a different day with family or friends, this via ferrata is for you.
The route begins on Sicília Street in Sant Feliu de Guíxols. There we will gear up and follow a path that ascends through a small forest until we reach the rock. This path lasts about 5 minutes and is an easy and pleasant walk, ideal for explaining the functioning of the activity.
Once on the rock, we will start descending to the start of the via ferrata. This section will help us familiarize ourselves with the equipment. The route has a total length of 500 meters and can be completed in about 3 hours.
During the via ferrata, we will have to overcome various vertical and horizontal sections. There are also several hanging bridges, cables, and sections with staples. The route passes through several viewpoints that offer incredible views of the coast, including the Cala del Molí, which gives its name to the via ferrata.
As we move along the via ferrata, we can enjoy the sea breeze and the views of the mountains and the coast.
Therefore, the Cala del Molí via ferrata is an exciting and challenging via ferrata that offers spectacular views of the Costa Brava. If you are an adventure lover and enjoy breathtaking views, this via ferrata is a must!
