Canyon’s detailed description
Among the protagonists of Ripollès, we find the Corba canyon, known by that name because it ends at a restaurant with the same name. Located in Bruguera (Ripollès, Girona), it is a discreet route through limestone rocks with various rappels in a spectacular environment, especially for its rock arch through which we descend. Clearly divided into two sections separated by a forest track, the first has three rappels and the second has five. It is a perfect canyon to consolidate rappelling techniques in a natural environment full of attractive and diverse spots.
This area is one of the most well-known and visited by canyoning and hiking enthusiasts in Catalonia. Regarding flora, around the canyon, we can find forests of conifers and deciduous trees, with species such as red pine, white pine, holly, holm oak, and oak, among others. It is also common to find shrubs such as self-heal, boxwood, and ivy. As for fauna, in the area, we can find species such as deer, wild boar, fox, rabbit, hare, peregrine falcon, golden eagle, and frog, among others. There is also a great variety of birds of prey and insects, such as butterflies or dragonflies.
The canyon is characterized by its impressive rock walls, waterfalls, and pools we pass through. It is a perfect canyon to get started and improve rappelling techniques in an incredible landscape.
Activity operation
We will meet at the meeting point, usually where we will leave the vehicles or from where we will depart with the minimum number of vehicles to the nearest parking lot to the activity.
There, all participants will meet with the guide, we will distribute personal equipment to each person and provide the necessary explanations.
From there, we will all set out to do the activity together. For longer approaches, we ask that you wear comfortable walking clothes, which will be worn under the wetsuit when descending the canyon. We recommend swim trunks or shorts and a sports fabric shirt.
After the activity, we will return to the same point where we left the cars.
Once there, we will change and return the equipment to the guide’s vehicle.
